Job Posting for Part-Time Optician

We are seeking a new team member to help serve our patients' optical needs as well as to work with our staff in daily office operations.

 

Where:

We are a small family owned and operated Optometry practice located in historic downtown Owosso, Michigan.

 

Hours/Week:

25-30

 

Days Needed:

4 days/week

​

Hourly Wage:

$14.50-18.50/hour

 

Responsibilities include:

Eyeglass repair and maintenance

Working with various insurance plans and understanding eligibility and benefits

Assisting patients with eyewear selection and lens options

Placing contact and glasses orders with our labs

Troubleshooting eyeglass issues, remakes, warranties, etc.

Keeping up to date on the latest advancements in the profession

Answering phones to schedule appointments, make referrals, and answer questions

Working within our electronic health records system and various insurance and lab interfaces

 

Qualifications:

Strongly preferred-

American Board of Opticianry (ABO) Certification

At least 2 years of Opticianry experience

At least 2 years of Medical office experience

 

Required-

High School Diploma
